Need help finding the mystery "quilt-looking" fabric of my life!?

Years ago I bought some fabric from a little family operated craft store..it was a soft fabric that appeared to be quilted but it wasnt. It LOOKED like it was (even had printed stiches). It was one or two inch solid colored squares in light greens, light pinks, light blues, light purples,(not pastels) etc. I made a purse out of it and have lost it somehow. But considering i have no idea what kind of fabric that would be "called" i cant search for any online to buy and make a new one. I was about 16 when i bought the fabric and lord knows i didnt keep any record of who made it. So ANY help from someone would be great. I'm really just trying to find the fabric or something close to it so i can replicate the old purse:) So basically any info on what it would technically be "called", where i could find it, or any other info would be so helpful!
