How do I get him to say "ILOVEU"?

Ive liked this guy for three years and we've been together once over the first year. Then we broke up. I asked him out three years later on a phone message. He never answered and things got aquard. He wanted(acording to my BFF whose friends with him) it to be the old fasion way, were he ASKed me out. but he didnt. Now we go to different schools and still lke each other. Hes always asking me who I like and I always say I li ke him. All he says back is oh cool and all his friends in the backround say he likes me but hes to shy to admit it!
